TUI’s 2020 holiday plans are set to begin in Germany towards the end of May, after the restrictions to contain the coronavirus have been lifted. The holidays that are set to resume first include those to the Balearics, Canaries, Greece, and Cyprus, as well as cruises on the North Sea.

“Holiday 2020 is possible, safe, and responsible,” says Sebastian Ebel, Group Board Member responsible for Hotels & Resorts. “The holiday experience continues to be our key focus. Our hotel employees are currently developing new ways of offering our guests high-quality cuisine, professional sports facilities, relaxation, and entertainment that we are known for.”

TUI has drawn up a 10-point plan to reopen its German hotels. The initiatives will enable guests to enjoy their holidays in the knowledge that the highest hygiene standards in relation to Covid-19 have been put in place.

The plan includes organisation, capacity planning, and hygiene measures as well as intensive training of local staff. “The greatest possible protection for holidaymakers and employees is a top priority in these extraordinary times,” adds Ebel. “With our experts in health and safety management, we have intensively prepared the new start and will meet the high expectations of our guests.”
