Algaida is a municipality in Majorca, Spain. It’s not only an incredibly attractive area, but it has a rich history as well. The restored monastery, Sancturai de Cura, once the hermitage of famed philosopher Ramon Llul, sits on a hilltop overlooking the town and is open for visitors to view. Down in the town itself is the Vidrios de Art Gordiola, the oldest glass blowers in Majorca. Here you’ll find an interesting insight into this local craft, with glass blowing demonstrations taking place on the factory floor all day, as well as a museum of glass attached to the building.

Algaida is also home to several beautiful old windmills and parish churches which are well worth a look, as are the food markets which are held around them every week. Plus in January the town celebrates the Festivities of Sant Honorat, which include music, dancing and food eaten around a bonfire.
