Oktoberfest is just around the corner, attracting over 6-million people from around the world. While German beers aren’t the most expensive in the world (this honour goes to Qatar), they also aren’t among the world’s cheapest.

This is based on data that we release at the beginning of each year, looking at the most expensive (and cheapest) holiday destinations in the world to find out which are most affordable and which will set you back.

If German beers are what you’re after, then the Oktoberfest probably ranks quite highly on your bucket list – but if it’s cheap beers that you want, then we've ranked the holiday destinations selling budget beers.

Whether you're sipping Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City or downing a Pilsner Urquell in Prague, you can find cheap beer all over the world. The prices in our infographic below are based on the average cost of a 500ml or 1pt beer at a local neighbourhood pub.

According to data collected by hoppa, the leading specialist in smooth rides, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam offers the cheapest beers in the world for 2019 at £0.88 per pint. This is followed by Siem Reap in Cambodia (£0.99 per pint), Kampala in Uganda (£1.10 per pint), Kiev in Ukraine (£1.15 per pint), Prague in Czech Republic (£1.28 per pint), Lagos in Nigeria (£1.31 per pint), Sofia in Bulgari (£1.32 per pint), Arrecife in Lanzarote (£1.34 per pint), Cartagena in Colombia (£1.34 per pint), and Accra in Ghana (£1.35 per pint).
