Here's the Top 10 most expensive holiday destinations in the World 2019

Europe and America round out the top 10 as priciest destinations with the likes of Amsterdam and Copenhagen retaining postions inside the top 10 for the third consecutive year.

Here's the rest of the destinations we looked at 2019

Many of the cheapest locations in the world are outside of Europe, primarily in East Asia - however, there are some close bargain breaks to be had! Sofia, Bulgaria missed out on reclaiming the title of 2017 by only 2p this time around so is still one of the best places in Europe to grab a cheap break. Antalya (Turkey), Kiev (Ukraine) and Bucharest (Romania) all feature really strongly as Eastern European locations for a cheaper holiday.

Cheapest and most expensive drinks from around the world 2019

If you're looking to have a few drinks on holiday the Middle East might not be the location of choice. Cocktails, Beer and Wine in UAE, Qatar and Bahrain are all amongst the most expensive in the world! At the other end of the spectrum, there's competition from all around the globe. Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam hosts the cheapest beers in the world at just £0.88 with neighbouring Cambodia just behind with £0.99 pints in Siem Reap. Kiev, Ukraine is a great spot in Europe for cheap wine, beer and coffee featuring in the top 5 for each!

Most Expensive and Cheapest Hotel Rooms from around the World 2019

These prices were calculated by looking at several hotels of each star category in each destination and finding the averages amongst those. Antalya and Sofia again jump out as great choices for European cheap breaks.

Cheapest and Most Expensive Medical Aid from around the world 2019

Whilst we always hope nothing unfortunate ever happens (especially whilst away on holiday!), it's worth considering. We haven't included these costs in the totals for the average day as we really hope you're not that unlucky! Travel insurance can be purchased from a variety of sources to mitigate this risk and if you're traveling around the EU then apply for a free EHIC which can help subsidise any medical costs that occur (for info here!).

How exchange rates have changes around the world last year 2019

So how has the British pound performed over the last year? You can certainly get much more for your money if travelling to some of the South American countries with the pound gaining value against the Argentinian peso, the Brazilian real and the Chiliean peso. For 'closer-to-home' travel, the value of the pound versus the Turkish lira and Tunisian dinar has also improved over the past year helping you stretch your money further in these locations.
