Getting to Arinsal from Barcelona

Barcelona, about 200km from Arinsal, is one of the most common entry points for visitors to the resort. You have several options to get here, each with its own convenience and views of the Spanish and Andorran landscapes.

Barcelona to Arinsal by Train

There is no direct train from Barcelona to Arinsal, but you can take a train part of the way. Take a train from Barcelona Sants to Lleida, a 1.5 hour journey. From Lleida you can take a bus to Andorra or arrange a private transfer to Arinsal. This option requires some planning but you get to see some of the Spanish countryside before you get to Andorra.

Barcelona to Arinsal by Bus

The bus is a simple and budget friendly way to get to Arinsal from Barcelona. Several companies offer direct buses from Barcelona Nord bus station to Andorra la Vella, the capital city, which is 20 minutes from Arinsal. The bus journey takes around 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. From Andorra la Vella you can take a connecting bus or a short taxi ride to Arinsal.

Barcelona to Arinsal by Car

Driving from Barcelona to Arinsal gives you flexibility and you can travel at your own pace. The journey takes around 3 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. If you have your own car or are renting one, take the C-16 road through Berga and Puigcerdà and then the CG-1 road once you get into Andorra. Make sure your car is mountain ready, especially in winter when snow and ice can make conditions tricky.

Barcelona to Arinsal by Transfer

Toulouse to Arinsal by Bus

Taking the bus from Toulouse to Andorra la Vella is a good option, as several companies offer direct routes. The journey takes around 3-4 hours and drops you in Andorra la Vella where you can hop on a local bus or taxi to get to Arinsal. This is a budget-friendly and easy option for solo travellers and families.

Toulouse to Arinsal by Car

Driving from Toulouse to Arinsal is a scenic and flexible option, and the journey takes around 3 hours. From Toulouse, head south on the A66, then the N20 and N22 through Ax-les-Thermes and up into Andorra. Winter tyres or chains are recommended during colder months as the road conditions can be tricky in the mountains. Car hire is available on the hoppa website if you want to drive yourself. Your car will be waiting for you at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport once you arrive.
