Arrive happy with Lanzarote airport transfers & rides

You land at Lanzarote (ACE) after a winter-sun charter, and the taxi rank outside arrivals is already deep with families heading the same way. More than 40 million travellers have booked their transfer this way through hoppa's network of 70,000+ vetted local operators across 182+ countries. Trusted by Mastercard, and UnionPay as the mobility infrastructure for agentic travel.

Everything you need to know before you book

Pick a topic to see the most common questions travelers ask at this airport — fixed prices, vehicles, delays, deals, trust, and managing your booking.

What does it cost to my resort?

What's the price from the airport to my resort?

Prices vary by route, vehicle, season, and time of day. Enter your dates and party size above to see your fixed quoted price for the exact journey.

What's included in my fixed price?

Your quoted price covers vehicle hire, fuel, the driver's service fee (tips), tolls, parking, taxes, and any entry, congestion or airport-access fees on the route. There's nothing extra to pay the driver on arrival.

What's NOT included — what could cost extra?

Charged separately and disclosed before they apply: overtime fees if your trip runs longer than reserved, excess-mileage fees if you exceed your booked distance, night-time service fees on some routes (22:00–08:00), holiday or event surcharges in some regions, additional child seats beyond the first one (which is free), and extra stops you add during the ride.

Will the quoted price change between booking and travel?

No. Once your booking is confirmed, your price is locked — it's what you pay regardless of demand, season or currency changes between today and your travel date. Booking early is the surest way to secure today's rate.

Will I pay anything to the driver on arrival?

No. Your fare is paid in full at booking and covers everything the driver's owed — tips, tolls, fuel, taxes, parking. Bookings are pre-paid via credit card, debit card, or PayPal on the hoppa platform. The only reasons your final charge could differ from the quote are changes you make on the day (extra stops, route changes) or fees for damage or smoking, which are disclosed in our terms.

Are there night-time or holiday surcharges?

Some services include a night-time fee for travel between 22:00 and 08:00, and prices may adjust on local holidays. Both are always reflected in the quote you see before paying — there's nothing additional charged at the trip itself.

Can I tip the driver?

Tipping is entirely at your discretion. The driver's service fee is already included in your fare, so a tip is appreciated but never expected.

Do prices change for larger group sizes?

Rates are set per vehicle category, not per person. Moving up to a larger vehicle to fit a bigger party or extra baggage is reflected in the fixed quote you see at booking.

I think I was overcharged

Disputes must be raised within 14 days of the charge date by emailing customer service with your card statement and a brief explanation. After 14 days, charges are considered final.

Which vehicle fits my group?

How many people and how much luggage fit in each vehicle?

Vehicle categories include Sedan, Business Sedan, Minivan, Business Minivan, Minibus and Bus. Each has a strict insured maximum for passengers and luggage that drivers must adhere to. Default luggage allowance is one 24-inch suitcase per passenger — bags larger than 24″ count as two pieces. Choose a category that fits both your party and your bags.

Will I get the exact car shown in the picture?

Vehicle images are for illustration only. You're booking a category, not a specific model — and we may upgrade you to a higher category at no extra charge if your selected one isn't available.

Shared shuttle vs private transfer — what's the difference?

Private transfers take you directly from your pickup point to your accommodation, with no shared passengers and no extra stops. Shared shuttles are budget-friendly and pick up multiple passengers on a planned route, so the journey may take longer but the per-person price is lower.

Can I add a child seat for my baby or toddler?

Yes. We offer infant carriers, baby seats and boosters depending on your supplier and route. Add the seat type you need during booking so it can be confirmed in advance.

How much does a child seat cost?

The first child seat in your booking is included free. Any additional seats may carry a fee from the supplier — the exact amount is shown in your booking quote before you pay, so there are no surprises.

I forgot to request a child seat — can I add it after booking?

Yes. Contact customer service as soon as possible to add it to your booking. Late requests are honoured subject to availability, so the sooner you ask, the better. Important: no refund or replacement applies if a driver arrives without a seat that wasn't requested in time.

Is my child seat guaranteed once I've added it to my booking?

If you've added the seat at the time of booking, it's confirmed with your transport supplier. Seats requested after the booking is placed are subject to availability. If a seat ends up unavailable on arrival because it wasn't requested in time, no refund applies.

Can I bring a pet or service animal?

Yes, at no extra charge. Notify us at booking so the right vehicle is allocated. Important: animals count toward the vehicle's passenger capacity — so a 5-seat vehicle with two pets has three human seats.

Do you have wheelchair-accessible options?

Yes. Note any accessibility need (wheelchair, mobility scooter, special assistance) in the booking comments. We work with specialised partners and make reasonable efforts to accommodate.

What if my flight is delayed?

Will my driver wait if my flight is late?

Yes. Your driver waits up to 60 minutes free after your scheduled arrival for airport pickups. For international flights, there's also a 30-minute buffer added on top — so your driver's free waiting period starts after that buffer ends.

What if my flight is delayed by more than 2 hours?

Contact customer service to reschedule. If we can't pick you up at the new time, the order is cancelled without charge.

What if my flight is cancelled entirely?

Your transfer is cancelled free of charge. Contact customer service immediately so we can update the booking.

What if my flight is diverted to a different airport?

Contact us immediately. We'll do our best to reschedule your pickup — though we can't guarantee a free transfer if the new airport is in a different region or significantly further from your destination.

Where will I meet my driver?

24 hours before pickup we send a final SMS or WhatsApp with the exact meeting point and your driver's contact details. Meet & greet at the arrival gate is available on request, subject to airport policy — if not possible at the gate, we'll assign an alternative meeting point.

What if I'm stuck inside the airport (luggage, immigration)?

Use the emergency number on your e-ticket to call the driver or local supplier and let them know you're still in the terminal. The driver will wait through their free period and, if reached in time, can sometimes extend.

What counts as a no-show?

Not appearing within the free waiting period and being unreachable for additional time. No-shows are charged in full and non-refundable.

Best price & current deals

Where can I find a discount code?

Active offers are applied automatically when you search — there's nothing to enter manually. To see what's currently running, check our discount codes page or our homepage banner.

Should I book early?

Yes. We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance for the best vehicle selection. Bookings within 24 hours are subject to availability and may carry an expedited service fee. Booking early also locks in today's price.

Is there a low-deposit option?

On selected services and destinations, yes — pay a deposit now and the balance before your travel date. If the balance isn't paid in time the booking auto-cancels and the deposit is forfeited. Note: low-deposit bookings can't be paid with hoppa Credits.

What is Refund Protect?

An optional add-on at checkout from our partner Refund Protect. If you (or anyone in your party) can't attend for a covered reason, you receive 100% of your booking back. Refund Protect's decision is final — see their full terms when adding the option.

Can I use hoppa Credits from a previous booking?

Yes. hoppa Credits apply automatically to your next booking when you log in with the same email. They expire 12 months after issue, can't be transferred between accounts, and can't be combined with low-deposit bookings.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

Yes, depending on timing and vehicle size. Up to 7 seats: free cancellation more than 24 hours before pickup; 100% charge within 24 hours. 8–14 seats: free outside 48 hours. 16+ seats: free outside 14 days, 50% within 14–7 days, 100% within 7 days. Approved refunds process within 14 days to your original payment method.

Why hoppa? Trust & comparison

Who is hoppa exactly?

hoppa is a global mobility platform for airport transfers, airport taxis, ride-hailing, private holiday transfers and shuttles — empowering 40 million+ customers with seamless, door-to-door ground transportation across 182+ countries and 2,600+ airports and resorts.

In one place, you can instantly compare and book with real-time access to the best fares and optimal routes for every journey and every budget. Our network of 70,000+ vetted local fleet providers delivers reliable, fixed-price travel for every need.

Trusted by the world's leading payment networks and super apps — including Mastercard, UnionPay and Alipay — to power their global mobility ecosystems and agentic travel transactions.

Why pre-book instead of grabbing a taxi at arrivals?

Fixed price quoted upfront (no meter, no surprise tolls), driver waits up to 60 minutes free if your flight's late, meet & greet on request, child seats and accessibility bookable in advance, 24/7 multilingual support, and a clear cancellation policy if plans change.

Aren't I just paying a middleman fee?

Your payment covers both our booking service and the supplier's fare — we pay the supplier on your behalf. That's what gives you a fixed all-in price, dispute resolution, and a single point of contact if anything goes wrong on the trip.

Are the drivers vetted and licensed?

We only work with established local transport partners who meet our service and safety standards, and who operate under their own local licensing and insurance requirements. Each supplier is contracted directly by hoppa.

Is my booking and payment secure?

Yes. Payments are processed through industry-standard encryption and secure payment gateways. Your booking details and personal information are protected throughout the transaction.

Can I read verified reviews?

Yes — thousands of travellers share their journey feedback on our website and on Trustpilot, so you can see real experiences from past passengers before you book.

What if something goes wrong on the day?

24/7 phone support is available in English, Spanish and Chinese; chat support runs in all languages. Emergency contact numbers are on your e-ticket so you can reach support or the local supplier directly.

How do I complain after the trip?

For pre-booked transfers and shared shuttles, raise complaints within 30 days of the trip. For ride-hailing, within 3 days. Email customer service with your booking reference.

Already booked? Login & manage

Where's my e-ticket and pickup time?

A confirmation email goes out immediately after booking, a reminder 7 days before, and final pickup details by SMS or WhatsApp 24 hours before. Everything is also visible in My Bookings when you log in.

Can I get a VAT invoice for expenses?

Yes — contact customer service within 30 days of your trip to issue an invoice.

I left something in the car

Contact customer service as soon as possible. We'll make reasonable efforts to recover and return your item, but we can't guarantee retrieval and don't accept liability for items left behind.

Smoking, damage and cleaning fees

Smoking or vaping in any vehicle triggers a minimum $250 cleaning fee and the driver may end the trip; the fare becomes non-refundable. Trash, spills or other damage in the vehicle can incur a cleaning fee of up to $200.

What are hoppa Credits?

Credit issued on refunds or as a goodwill gesture. They apply automatically to your next booking when you log in with the same email, expire 12 months after issue, can't be transferred, and can't be combined with low-deposit bookings.

How do I cancel my booking? Can I get a refund?

Cancel from your account or by contacting support. Refund depends on timing and vehicle size: up to 7 seats — free outside 24 hours, 100% charge within 24 hours. 8–14 seats — free outside 48 hours. 16+ seats — free outside 14 days, 50% within 14–7 days, 100% within 7 days.

Can I change my booking details?

Yes, but only for: passenger names, contact numbers, number of passengers, and luggage count (within the booked vehicle's capacity). One free modification is allowed if your booking is eligible. For other changes — including route, vehicle category or pickup point — you'll need to cancel and rebook at the current price.

How long do refunds take to process?

Approved refunds are processed within 14 days to your original payment method.

How much is a taxi from Lanzarote Airport to Playa Blanca or Puerto del Carmen?

  • A metered airport taxi from Lanzarote runs roughly €20 to €25 to Puerto del Carmen and €55 to €70 to Playa Blanca, before the 22:00–08:00 night surcharge and any luggage add-ons, and you only learn the final figure when the meter stops.
  • A pre-booked hoppa transfer settles that number before you fly: from £10pp shared or £67 private to Puerto del Carmen, from £15pp shared or £88 private to Playa Blanca, all-in, with your named driver waiting in the arrivals hall.
  • The difference on the long southern run to Playa Blanca, late at night, with cases and a tired family, is the difference between a fixed line on your holiday budget and a meter you cannot argue with at 1am. Prices are indicative — confirm your exact fare at booking on hoppa.com.

How long is the transfer from Lanzarote Airport to Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise?

Your resort is often further from ACE than you expect, and that distance is the single biggest factor in your transfer. The longest journeys are where a fixed price and the right vehicle matter most, so settle both before you fly.

Transfers from Lanzarote airport to popular destinations

These are the routes UK travellers book most from ACE, with honest journey times and indicative fares for private and shared service. Playa Blanca is the far-side favourite for families; Puerto del Carmen stays the short hop. Whether you're heading to a lively resort town, a serene beach escape, or a cultural hotspot, our airport transfers Lanzarote ensure a smooth and stress-free journey.

Here are some of the most popular routes:

  • Transfers from Lanzarote airport to Puerto del Carmen: Located approximately 10 km from the airport, this lively resort town is known for its bustling promenade, vibrant nightlife, and beautiful beaches. A private taxi transfer takes about 15 minutes, while a shared shuttle may take around 30 minutes, depending on stops.
  • Transfers from Lanzarote Airport to Playa Blanca: Situated on the southern tip of the island, about 34 km from the airport, Playa Blanca offers pristine beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. Transfers typically take around 30 minutes by private car.
  • Transfers from Lanzarote Airport to Costa Teguise: Approximately 15 km northeast of the airport, Costa Teguise is a family-friendly destination with a variety of water sports and attractions. A private transfer usually takes about 20 minutes.
  • Transfers from Lanzarote Airport to Arrecife: The island's capital, Arrecife, is only 6 km from the airport and offers cultural attractions, shopping, and excellent seafood restaurants. A taxi transfer takes about 10 minutes.
  • Transfers from Lanzarote Airport to Puerto Calero: A luxurious marina with top-tier dining and sailing excursions, Puerto Calero is just 15 km from the airport, with transfers taking around 15 minutes.
  • Transfers from Lanzarote Airport to Famara: A surfer’s paradise on the island’s northwest coast, Famara is approximately 25 km away, with transfers taking about 30 minutes.
  • Transfers from Lanzarote Airport to Yaiza: A picturesque village located about 20 km from the airport, Yaiza is known for its traditional architecture and proximity to Timanfaya National Park. A transfer takes around 25 minutes.

Choose the right Lanzarote airport transfer for you

Choosing the wrong vehicle for the far-side run is the mistake that costs you on a Lanzarote transfer: a family of four with cases heading to Playa Blanca in a standard sedan ends up cramped for 40 minutes, while a couple popping to Puerto del Carmen rarely needs more than a shared shuttle. Match the vehicle to the distance and the group, and the journey takes care of itself.

No matter your budget or group size, we offer a variety of airport transfers in Lanzarote to suit your needs:

  • Private transfers: Enjoy a direct, door-to-door service with our private cars or luxury vehicles. Ideal for those seeking comfort and convenience.
  • Shared shuttles: A cheaper option where you share the ride with other travellers heading in the same direction.
  • Minibuses and coaches: Perfect for larger groups, ensuring everyone travels together comfortably.

Discover Lanzarote after your airport transfer

hoppa will start your trip off with a seamless and professional transfer from Lanzarote Airport, allowing you to relax and start planning your adventures. From fascinating geysers at Timanfaya National Park to the vibrant nightlife of Puerto Del Carmen, there’s no shortage of sights to explore. Enjoy a round of golf, splash around in water parks, or visit historical and architectural treasures to fully appreciate the beauty of Lanzarote.

Arrive into the buzzing Lanzarote Arrecife Airport and get your first impression of the sunny, tropical island of Lanzarote. The island is full of sun-drenched resorts, including Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise, alongside breathtaking volcanic landscapes, miles of sandy beaches, and fantastic shopping opportunities.

Once you arrive, there's so much to see! Check out some of Lanzarote’s top attractions after your airport transfer from Lanzarote airport:

  • Timanfaya National Park: Explore the island's volcanic landscape and witness geothermal demonstrations.
  • Jameos del Agua: Visit this unique attraction, a series of lava caves transformed by artist César Manrique.
  • Beaches: Relax on the golden sands of Playa Blanca or enjoy water sports at Playa de las Cucharas in Costa Teguise.
  • Local markets: Immerse yourself in local culture at markets like the one in Teguise, offering crafts, food, and souvenirs.

You can also read a full list of things to do and see in Lanzarote to make the most of your stay there.

However, even the airport has lots going on in the shadows of the volcanoes. There are plenty of duty-free shops, jewellery stores, and fashion boutiques where you can treat yourself to a holiday souvenir. There is also a wide choice of eateries, from fast-food chains to friendly coffee shops, where you can relax and wait for your flight.

Lanzarote Airport terminal guide and tips

When you land at Lanzarote you clear one arrivals hall at the César Manrique terminal (ACE), the island's single passenger terminal about 5 km south-west of Arrecife. Follow the signs for the exit after baggage reclaim, and look for your hoppa driver holding a name sign inside the arrivals hall, not out at the kerb.

The mistake first-time visitors make is walking straight past the meet-and-greet point to the taxi rank, where on winter-sun changeover days the queue builds fast. Your driver is already inside, waiting, with your name on the board.

Lanzarote is a compact island, with the main resort routes splitting between the quick coastal hop to Puerto del Carmen and the longer LZ-2 run south to Playa Blanca. Public buses serve Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen on a budget, but they thin out in the evening, so a late charter leaves you choosing between a pre-booked transfer and the surcharged taxi rank. Pre-book and that decision is already made for you.

Lanzarote Airport (ACE) Airport Guide

Where to go when you land at ACE, where every hoppa driver waits, and how Lanzarote’s roads actually work

Arrivals

Lanzarote clears every flight through one arrivals hall at the César Manrique terminal (ACE), the island’s single passenger terminal about 5 km south-west of Arrecife. Follow the exit signs after baggage reclaim.

Where to meet your driver

Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name sign, with their name, photo and plate on your e-ticket. It is a short coastal hop to Puerto del Carmen from here.

Skip the winter-sun queue

On winter-sun changeover days the taxi rank queue builds fast. Do not walk straight past the meet-and-greet point to the rank — your hoppa driver is already inside with your name on the board.

Delays & Driver Info

1

Free waiting time

Your driver waits 60 minutes after your flight lands, plus a 30-minute international buffer — ample time to clear passport control, collect your bags and walk out of Lanzarote. You are never charged for a late flight.

Flight delayed, diverted or landing early?

Landing early, late or with a terminal change is no problem. Your driver tracks your flight number and adjusts to the new landing time automatically, so your booking does not break and nobody leaves without you.

?

Can’t see your driver?

Stay inside the arrivals hall and call the number on your e-ticket rather than wandering out to the kerb. hoppa’s team answers in an average of 11 seconds, 24/7 — a real person, not a chatbot.

General Travel Information

Currency & tipping

Euros (€). Tipping is not expected in Spain — round up if you wish, but your hoppa price is fixed and settled in advance, so nothing is owed on arrival.

T

Peak traffic

The coastal hop to Puerto del Carmen is quick; the LZ-2 run south to Playa Blanca is longer. The island is compact, so even the far south is a manageable transfer.

!

Taxi warning

A meter to Playa Blanca in the south climbs over the longer run; for anything beyond Puerto del Carmen a fixed price usually wins.

B

Honest budget alternative

Public buses serve Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen for a few euros — fine if you travel light, but they thin out in the evening, leaving the surcharged rank for late charters.

What to do around Lanzarote?

Lanzarote is shaped by volcanoes and by the artist César Manrique, with golden beaches at its southern tip.

  • Timanfaya: the Fire Mountains national park, toured by coach through a Martian volcanic landscape.
  • César Manrique: Jameos del Agua and the Cactus Garden, the artist’s lava-set landmarks.
  • Playa Blanca: the Papagayo beaches, the island’s calmest golden-sand coves.

Frequently asked questions

How do I book my Lanzarote Airport transfers with hoppa?

We know that you want everything taken care of before you land. That’s why our booking system has been designed to make booking your airport transfers in Lanzarote simple and stress-free.

To begin, enter the dates you’ll be travelling in the search bar and how many of you will be in your party. This will show you the transport options that are available for your journey.

You can then choose between a shuttle bus or one of our private transfers. Thanks to our leading transport partners in the region, we have a wide range of vehicles available on the island for you pick from.

When you make your choice, you’ll reach the ‘Extras’ page. This features the ‘Anything we can help with?’ box, the section where you can tell us specific information that we might need. This could be details about any unusual luggage you’re bringing with you or a request for an adapted car so you can easily transport your motorised wheelchair. You’ll also need to add a note here if you have a foldable wheelchair. We’ll then find you the best vehicle to fit.

What’s the difference between a shuttle bus and a private vehicle?

Private transfer passengers have a set pick-up time, which is included on the e-ticket. This means that you’ll know when to expect your driver when you land at Lanzarote Airport.

Also, when you pick one of our private vehicles, you and the rest of your group will be the only passengers. You’ll all be taken directly to your holiday accommodation from the airport.

Our shuttle buses are the perfect option if you’re looking for easy airport transfers in Lanzarote. You may have to wait for up to 45 minutes before setting off from the airport if you decide to travel by shuttle bus. This is because your fellow passengers may be arriving on later flights.

You’ll then share the journey to your hotel or villa with these fellow holidaymakers. Passengers on your bus are dropped off along the way and your accommodation will be one of the drop-off points.

How much luggage am I allowed?

Whether you’ve booked private Lanzarote Airport transfers to Playa Blanca or a shuttle bus to Costa Teguise, everyone in your party can bring one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage each. Double-check that the vehicle is going to be suitable for the luggage that you’ll have with you before you travel. For instance, if you’re bringing more than one suitcase per person, you’ll need a larger vehicle.

What happens after I book my Lanzarote transfers?

When you complete your booking, we’ll send you an e-ticket. This is the document that includes everything you need to know about your journey, from where to find your driver when you get to Lanzarote to pick-up and drop-off times.

Print your ticket before you set off for your flight so you can easily show it to your driver when you meet them at the airport. You’ll also be asked to show it to your driver on your return transfer at the end of your holiday, so you’ll need to keep hold of the printout.

Where should I go when I get to Lanzarote Airport?

When you get to Lanzarote Airport, you’ll need to follow the pick-up details on your e-ticket. This information is just for your journey and might differ depending on your transport option and the transfer partner you’ll be travelling with.

One of the most common pick-up instructions for holidaymakers trying to find their driver in Lanzarote is to go to the hoppa desk (Viajes Poseidon office). You’ll find this in the arrivals area, just after the baggage reclaim area in Terminal 1.

Once you’ve located your transfer representative and shown them your e-ticket, you’ll be escorted to your vehicle or to a waiting area if you’re travelling by shuttle bus. If you’re travelling by private transfer, you’ll be taken straight to your vehicle.

What shall I do if I can’t find my driver?

If you can’t see your driver when you get to your pick-up point, call the number on your e-ticket to get an update. Our drivers can sometimes be slightly delayed due to heavy traffic, but when you call the number you’ll be told where they are and what to do next.

My flight is delayed: what now?

If you won’t be at your pick-up point on time because your flight’s delayed or your luggage hasn’t arrived on time, your driver will wait for 45 minutes. We recommend that you call the number on your e-ticket if you know there’ll be a hold-up. This is because a new driver might be sent to you for delays of over the 45-minute waiting time, so keeping us posted is very helpful for us to be able to make alternative arrangements for your transfer.

For any delays over three hours, you’ll need to call us to rearrange your transfer and claim through your travel insurance.

What’s available at Lanzarote Airport?

Lanzarote Airport is a busy hub for tourists, with 8.2 million passengers flying in and out in 2023. Conveniently located just three miles from Lanzarote’s capital, Arrecife, it features shops, boutiques and eateries. It’s also home to the Museo Aeronáutico del Aeropuerto de Lanzarote – the airport’s own aviation museum.

Where shall I meet my driver for my return transfer?

Are you using one of our shuttle buses for your Lanzarote Airport transfers? We’ll let you know your pick-up time 24 hours before your plane departure time.

You’ll receive a text message detailing when you’ll be collected if you opt to receive SMS messages from us when you book, or you can check online. Click on ‘My bookings’ and ‘Get my pick-up time’. If you can’t find your pick-up time the day before you fly, call the number on your ticket.

Get to your pick-up point 10 minutes before your bus arrives. If your bus is late, call the emergency number on your e-ticket to find out where it is.

If you’re using a private vehicle to take you to the airport, you’ll find information in the ‘Find my pick-up’ section of your e-ticket. Aim to be ready to be collected by your driver at your accommodation 15 minutes before your pick-up time.

We’ll send you a reminder text if you choose to receive SMS messages. If you can’t find your driver or you can’t make the collection time, call one of the emergency numbers listed on your ticket.

Are child seats available for my transfer?

Absolutely. We offer child seats and booster seats upon request. Please specify your requirements during the booking process.

Is tipping the driver expected?

Tipping is entirely optional, but if you receive great service, a small tip is always appreciated.

Can I book a return transfer?

Yes! To make your trip hassle-free, you can book both arrival and return transfers in one go. We’ll send you a confirmation with details on your return journey.

Are your Lanzarote airport transfers wheelchair-accessible?

Yes! We offer accessible vehicles for passengers with mobility needs. Be sure to select this option or contact us when booking to ensure availability.
