Climate and Snow Conditions

The climate in Borovets is considered to be healthy. The winter in the resort is mild and, of course, filled with snow! The average temperature during the coldest month, January, is 4.8ºC. Typically, the slopes of Borovets have snow cover from mid-December to April. The air in Borovets is clear and free of any pollutants.

Ski Pistes and Sports Facilities

Borovets offers 45 kilometers of ski pistes, varying in difficulty and length, grouped into three regions:

  • Sitnyakovo – Martinovi Baraki pistes
  • Markudjik – 4 pistes
  • Yastrebets – 3 pistes

The pistes on Yastrebets are the best, hosting all competitions in the resort. Borovets has twice hosted World Cup competitions in Alpine skiing, and its biathlon track is among the best in Europe.

Ski runs are available for beginners, intermediates, and advanced skiers, all designed with international markings and multilingual signs. The pistes are groomed and maintained to a high standard.
