Why is a round-trip booking recommended?

Planning ahead for your flight home? We’ve got that covered, too.

You can book a simple A-to-B journey to get to your hotel, but seasoned Dubai travellers often book a round-trip. Why? Dubai traffic is notorious, especially on Sheikh Zayed Road during rush hour. Booking your return Dubai airport transfer in advance means your driver knows exactly when to pick you up to ensure you make your flight home without panic.

Lock in your return to avoid the airport rush. Pre-book your return Dubai airport transfer now, so all that will be left for you to do is relax and enjoy your break in the UAE.

Choose your ride: Private transfers vs. shared shuttles

Not sure which option fits your itinerary? Here is the honest breakdown.

Shared shuttles

The wallet-friendly choice. You’ll share a minibus with other travellers heading to the same area.

Good to know: This is often the cheapest airport transfer in Dubai, with rates starting from as low as £13 per person. Be prepared for a wait at the airport (usually up to 45 minutes) while the bus waits for other passengers going in the same general direction as you, and a few stops along the way. It’s perfect if you have time to spare and want to save cash for the malls.

Private transfers

The "get me there now" choice. Your driver meets you in arrivals, helps with your bags, and drives straight to your hotel door.

Good to know: This is the most popular option for transfers from Dubai airport to hotels in Jumeirah or the Palm. It’s private, air-conditioned, and runs on your schedule, not a bus timetable.

The right vehicle for your group

Size matters, especially when you have suitcases for a two-week holiday.

  • Solo & couples: A standard private car (sedan) is faster and often surprisingly comparable in price to public taxis.
  • Families (4-8 people): Standard taxis often struggle with more than 2 large suitcases. A private car or minivan guarantees space for everyone and their luggage.
  • Large groups (8+): Don't split up into multiple cars. A private minibus or coach keeps the whole crew together and splits the cost effectively.

Essential extras: Baby seats & more!

Customise your ride for a smooth arrival.

It’s the small details that make a big difference to your journey. At hoppa, we allow you to tailor your booking with specific "add-ons" so your vehicle is perfectly prepped for your arrival.

1. Baby & child seats

Travelling with your little ones? Book your Dubai airport transfers with a baby seat.

The reality is that public taxis in Dubai generally do not carry child seats. If you hail one at the curb, you may be forced to travel with your child on your lap, which is neither safe nor legal.

  • hoppa solution: You can add infant, child, and booster seats to your booking with a single click. Your driver will have them installed and ready before you even land.

2. Extra luggage & sports equipment

Dubai is a world-class destination for shopping and sports. If standard baggage allowance isn’t enough, simply tell us what you’re bringing:

  • Golf bags: Playing the courses at Dubai Creek or the Emirates Golf Club? Let us know if you are bringing your own clubs so we can send a vehicle with ample trunk space.
  • Pushchairs: "The smaller the passenger, the more the luggage!" If you are bringing a stroller/pushchair, we will ensure there is a dedicated space for it.
  • Extra suitcases: Planning a spree at the Dubai Mall? If you need more than the standard allowance (usually 1 suitcase + 1 hand luggage per person), you can add "extra luggage" to your booking.

3. Accessibility & assistance

We go out of our way to give that little bit extra.

  • Foldable wheelchairs: If you are travelling with your own wheelchair, let us know so we can assist you and ensure the vehicle boot can accommodate it.
  • Wheelchair adapted vehicles: For passengers with restricted mobility who require a ramp or lift, we offer specific wheelchair accessible minibuses that must be selected at the "vehicle type" selection stage.

4. Refreshments

  • Water on arrival: Air travel is notoriously dehydrating. You can request to have a bottle of water waiting for each passenger in your vehicle so you can rehydrate immediately in the Dubai heat.

Dubai airport transfers: Frequently asked questions

How do I book Dubai Airport transfers with hoppa?

We’ve made it easy for you to book your transfers with us. Simply let us know the dates you’re travelling and how many people will be with you in the search bar above.

From there, you will be presented with Dubai Airport shuttle buses and selection of private vehicles. Check through the options available to find the one that suits you.

If you want to bring any additional or unusual luggage, need special assistance, or you require an adapted vehicle for a motorised wheelchair, pop the information in the ‘Anything we can help with?’ box and we’ll do the rest. If you have a foldable wheelchair, make a note of it in this box so that your driver can help.

Once you’ve completed your booking, we’ll send you an e-ticket. This includes everything you need to know about your Dubai transfers, from timings to where you need to go to find your driver. We suggest you print this off as this is proof of your booking, and your driver will ask to see it.

What’s the difference between a hoppa shuttle bus service and private transport?

Private vehicles are particularly popular for visitors to Dubai, however if you choose one of our shuttle buses, you can enjoy a comfortable, low-cost journey that you will share with other holidaymakers. There are drop-off points on the route. Private vehicles, on the other hand, just accommodate your party, so you will be the only passengers and you’ll travel directly to your hotel or villa.

There are also differences in how you are picked up for your Dubai transfers. If you’re travelling in a private vehicle, you’ll have a scheduled pick-up time, which you’ll find on your e-ticket. Should you decide to travel by shuttle bus, you may have to wait for up to 45 minutes. This is because you’ll be joined by travellers arriving on different flights.

How much luggage can I bring?

Every member of your party can bring one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage with them. It’s worth double-checking before you travel that your vehicle is the right fit for the number of people and the amount of luggage each of you will have.

Where shall I go when I arrive at Dubai Intl. Airport?

When you arrive at Dubai Intl. Airport, check your e-ticket for directions so that you know where you need to go.

Usually, you will be instructed to head to the arrivals hall where you will find your travel representative waiting for you near Costa Coffee. When you find your travel rep, you’ll be asked to show them your e-ticket.

Always check your ticket to make sure you’re following the directions. If you can’t see any pick-up information, call the number in the ‘Find my pick up’ section for information about what you need to do next.

I've arrived at DXB and can’t find my driver - what should I do?

Can’t find your driver? Call the number on your e-ticket to get an update. You’ll be asked for your reference number, which you’ll see on your ticket, and we’ll find out where they are and how long they’ll be.

What if my flight to Dubai is delayed?

We know that flights can be delayed and sometimes luggage doesn’t turn up on time. To allow for these hiccups, your driver will wait for you for 45-60 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time.

As soon as you know there might be a hold-up, we recommend you calling the number on your e-ticket so we can prepare alternative transfers if necessary. If you’re delayed for over 45 minutes, we might have to send a different driver, so it’s helpful to keep us posted.

For delays that exceed three hours, you’ll need to rearrange your transfers with us and then claim through your travel insurance.

What’s available at Dubai Intl. Airport?

Dubai International isn’t your typical airport. As the third-busiest airport in the world, serving a whopping 88.2 million passengers in 2017, it has a lot of people to entertain.

As well as offering a range of eateries and duty free shops, there are plenty of services available and activities to enjoy here. You can take some time out at the Zen Gardens in Terminal 3, head to the spa for a massage or freshen up before your flight with a soothing shower.

Where will I be picked up from for my return flight from Dubai?

For your return private Dubai airport transfer, our driver will arrive at your accommodation at a set time, which you’ll find on your e-ticket. We ask that you’re ready 15 minutes before your pick-up time and have your e-ticket ready to show the driver.

If you’re getting a shuttle bus to the airport, you’ll be given your pick-up time 24 hours before your flight back. We’ll either send you a text message detailing your pick-up time if you’ve opted in to receive SMS messages, or you’ll be able to check online.

We advise you get to your pick-up point 10 minutes before your bus arrives and have your e-ticket ready. If your bus is late, call the emergency number on your e-ticket and we’ll locate your driver.

If you decide to opt-in to receive SMS messages from hoppa when you make your booking, we’ll also text you with a reminder of the time you’ll be collected.

Is it cheaper to book a transfer or take a taxi in Dubai?

For short trips (like to Deira), a taxi might appear cheaper initially (starting fare ~25 AED), but the waiting time in traffic can cause the meter to spike. For longer trips (like to the Marina or Palm), or for groups requiring a minivan, a pre-booked hoppa transfer often offers better value and the security of a guaranteed price (starting around £30 for a private car).

Can I book a transfer from Dubai Airport to Abu Dhabi?

Absolutely. This is a very popular route. A transfer from Dubai airport to Abu Dhabi costs approximately £65-£85 for a private car and takes about 90 minutes. This is much more comfortable than navigating the intercity bus with luggage.

Do I need to bring my own car seat?

Not if you book with hoppa. You can select a Dubai airport transfer with a baby seat during the booking process. Public taxis rarely have them available.
