About two hours, covering the 100 km south on the Zakopianka. From Katowice it is 190 km and around three hours.

How much is a Krakow to Zakopane transfer?

Krakow or Katowice for Zakopane?

Krakow, unless you are two or three people happy in a premium car. Katowice opens at £129 for an executive car, but its standard private car is £245 against Krakow's £140, and it is dearer at every size above that.

Why is the lowest fare on this route not the best deal?

Because it is an upgrade, not the base vehicle. The £129 executive car out of Katowice undercuts that same airport's own private car at £245. Krakow's prices run the way you expect them to: £139 executive, £140 private.

Is my child seat guaranteed once I've added it to my booking?

If you've added the seat at the time of booking, it's confirmed with your transport supplier. Seats requested after the booking is placed are subject to availability. If a seat ends up unavailable on arrival because it wasn't requested in time, no refund applies.

Can I bring a pet or service animal?

Yes, at no extra charge. Notify us at booking so the right vehicle is allocated. Important: animals count toward the vehicle's passenger capacity — so a 5-seat vehicle with two pets has three human seats.

Will my driver wait if my flight is late?

Yes. Your driver waits up to 60 minutes free after your scheduled arrival for airport pickups. For international flights, there's also a 30-minute buffer added on top — so your driver's free waiting period starts after that buffer ends.

What if my flight is delayed by more than 2 hours?

Contact customer service to reschedule. If we can't pick you up at the new time, the order is cancelled without charge.

What if my flight is cancelled entirely?

Your transfer is cancelled free of charge. Contact customer service immediately so we can update the booking.

What if my flight is diverted to a different airport?

Contact us immediately. We'll do our best to reschedule your pickup — though we can't guarantee a free transfer if the new airport is in a different region or significantly further from your destination.

Where will I meet my driver?

24 hours before pickup we send a final SMS or WhatsApp with the exact meeting point and your driver's contact details. Meet & greet at the arrival gate is available on request, subject to airport policy — if not possible at the gate, we'll assign an alternative meeting point.

What if I'm stuck inside the airport (luggage, immigration)?

Use the emergency number on your e-ticket to call the driver or local supplier and let them know you're still in the terminal. The driver will wait through their free period and, if reached in time, can sometimes extend.

What counts as a no-show?

Not appearing within the free waiting period and being unreachable for additional time. No-shows are charged in full and non-refundable.

How long is the transfer from Krakow or Katowice to Zakopane?

About two hours from Krakow, 100 km south on the Zakopianka, and around three hours from Katowice, 190 km out. Krakow is nearer, and on this route it is also cheaper at nearly every size, so the map and the price list agree for once.

The exception is narrow and worth naming. Katowice opens lower on the premium vehicles — its executive car is the lowest fare on this whole page, under Krakow's standard car. Step across to a standard car, an MPV or anything above seven seats and the two price lists part company entirely.

Katowice prices almost everything differently, and the gap runs both ways. Its executive car is the lowest fare on this page — under Krakow's standard car — while its minibuses cost several times what Krakow charges for the same seats. Groups should fly into Krakow. Eight seats are £175 there and £631 from Katowice, and the gap widens with every extra row.
Give the district as well as the street. The town runs for kilometres along the valley, and Gubałówka and Polana Szymoszkowa are opposite ends of it.
Declare the ski bags. One bag per person up to 24 inches is standard; over 24 inches counts as two pieces, which a ski bag usually does.
Ask for the child seat at booking. The first one is free, but it has to be requested in advance.
Cancellation runs off the vehicle size. 24 hours on 7 seats and under, 48 hours on 8 to 14, 14 days on 16 and above.

Poland makes this journey cheap and makes it slow. Buses leave Krakow's MDA station roughly hourly in peak season, trains leave Krakow Główny several times a day, and both of them land you in the centre of town rather than at your door.

What should you know about skiing Zakopane in winter?

Zakopane is Poland's winter capital and it behaves like a town rather than a purpose-built resort. Kasprowy Wierch is the serious one, reached by cable car from Kuźnice and rationed by capacity. Gubałówka is the funicular ridge above Krupówki with the views and the easy runs. Polana Szymoszkowa is the family slope on the edge of town. They are separate hills, not one linked area, so where you sleep decides what you ski first.

Because the hills are separate, three decisions land on you before the snow does:

Pick the hill, then the address, then the transfer. A pension under Gubałówka and an apartment near Kuźnice are a long cold walk apart with gear. Name the district at booking.
Plan for the queue at Kasprowy. Cable car places are limited and sell out in good weather, so the local habit is to buy ahead or ski elsewhere that morning. This is the one thing every first-timer here gets wrong.
Keep an afternoon for the town. Krupówki is a working high street with grilled oscypek, Highlander music and carved timber frontages, and the thermal pools at Chochołów and Bukowina are half an hour away. A weather day in Podhale is a day out.

South on the Zakopianka

From Krakow the route runs 100 km south on the Zakopianka (DK47), the single main artery into Podhale. Allow about two hours. It is dual carriageway for much of the way now, and it still backs up on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons when half of southern Poland is going the same direction.

From Katowice the approach is longer at 190 km and roughly three hours, joining the same road for the final stretch.

Worth knowing: Katowice's cheapest listed fare, £129, is an executive car. Its ordinary private car is £245. If you are comparing airports on the opening number alone, you are comparing two different vehicles.

Where you are dropped

Zakopane is a long town in a valley, and this is the part worth getting right at booking. Your accommodation will sit near one of these:
