Located in New Zealand’s lovely capital city of Wellington, and formerly known as Rongtai Airport, Wellington International Airport (WLG) is the third busiest airport in the country. Wellington airport is also conveniently located only five kilometres from the city centre. Wellington airport serves as a connection to many cities within New Zealand, as well as some cities in western Australia and the South Pacific.
The airport consists of one main terminal with three connecting piers. There is a small selection of clothing and specialty retail shops where you can pick up some last minute gifts, or items you forgot to pack. Several hip cafés provide the perfect ambience to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a light meal before your flight.
Wellington is a compact city that encompasses a stunning shoreline with a working harbour, soft sandy beaches and a bustling waterfront promenade. It’s the perfect place to spend a holiday outdoors, exploring the attractions the city and the surrounding areas have to offer. Hike to the top of Mount Victoria to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the city or take an iconic cable car ride to the lookout at Kelburn. Discover the fascinating history of the country and learn all about the Maori culture with an educational trip to Te Papa, New Zealand’s innovative national museum.
With so much to see and do, don’t waste a moment waiting in long taxi queues. Pre-book you Wellington airport transfers with hoppa and get your New Zealand holiday off to a fantastic start.
