Malaga Airport Transfers Private Taxis & Shuttle Buses from Malaga
Arrive happy with Malaga airport transfers & rides
You land at Málaga into a wave of Costa del Sol charters, and the taxi rank outside arrivals is already backing up. Your resort might be Torremolinos, ten minutes down the coast, or Nerja, an hour east, and the metered fare you will pay at that rank is anyone's guess. Others head west to Benalmadena and Fuengirola, or inland to the Sierra Nevada ski slopes in winter.
With hoppa your price is fixed before you fly and your named driver is waiting inside the arrivals hall, so you walk past the queue instead of joining it. More than 40 million travellers have booked their transfer this way through hoppa's network of 70,000+ vetted local operators. Trusted by Mastercard, and UnionPay as the mobility infrastructure for agentic travel.
Shared shuttle from £12pp · Private car from £42 to Torremolinos, journey time around 15 minutes. Prices are indicative. Check hoppa.com for live availability.
How long is the transfer from Malaga Airport to Marbella, Fuengirola and the Costa del Sol resorts?
Your resort is often further from Málaga than the brochure suggests, and that distance is the single biggest factor in your transfer. Torremolinos and Benalmádena sit ten to fifteen minutes down the coast, but Marbella and Puerto Banús are 40 to 50 minutes west, and Nerja is a full hour east. On summer changeover afternoons the coastal road can add another 15 to 25 minutes, so the right vehicle and a fixed price matter most on the longest runs.

Which Malaga airport transfer vehicle fits my group?
Choosing the wrong vehicle for a longer coastal run is the mistake that costs you on a Costa del Sol transfer: a family of four with cases heading to Marbella in a standard sedan ends up cramped for the best part of an hour, while a couple popping to Torremolinos rarely needs more than a shared shuttle.
Match the vehicle to the distance and the group, and the journey takes care of itself.
| Your travel style | Recommended service | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Solo or couple, watching the budget | Shared shuttle | From £12pp to Torremolinos; you share with others heading the same way |
| Family with cases and a child seat | Private car or MPV | Door-to-door to your hotel, first child seat free, no shared stops |
| Marbella or Puerto Banús, want the executive touch | Executive MPV | Higher-end vehicle for the coast-road run west |
| Group of 6–8 with luggage | Private minibus | One vehicle to a resort like Nerja, bags included |
| Sports team or large party | Private coach | Up to 60 seats for groups travelling together |
| Travelling with mobility needs | Wheelchair-accessible minibus | Request at booking so the right vehicle is sent |

Malaga Airport Transfer FAQs
Shuttle bus service or private transfers in Malaga: which is best for me?
Our private Malaga airport transfers and shuttle buses both aim to get you to where you need to go but there are some clear differences between the two. See the two questions below to get a better sense of what's involved with each method.
How do private airport transfers in Malaga work?
When you book a private transfer, you and those you’re holidaying with will be the only passengers in the car or people carrier. You’ll all be taken directly to your holiday accommodation from the airport.
Private transfer passengers are also given a scheduled pick-up time. This time is included on the e-ticket, so you’ll know when to expect your driver when you land at Palma Airport.
What if I choose a shuttle bus in Malaga?
Unlike private transfers, you’ll share the journey to your hotel or villa with other holidaymakers. Fellow passengers are dropped off along the way and your accommodation will be one of the drop-off points.
What’s my luggage allowance on the transfers?
Everyone in your party can bring one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage, whether you’ve booked private transfers from Malaga Airport to Estepona or a shuttle bus to Marbella. We’ll confirm this when you book but make sure you check the vehicle is going to be suitable for your luggage before you travel.
What happens after booking a transfer from Malaga Airport?
After you’ve completed your booking, we’ll send you an e-ticket. This will provide you with all the information you need about your transfers from Malaga Airport, such as where to find your driver when you land, plus pick-up and drop-off times.
We suggest you print your ticket. This is so you can show it to your driver as proof of your booking when you meet them at the airport. Also, if you’ve booked a return transfer with us for the journey to your flight home, you’ll need to hang onto it until the end of your holiday so keep it safe.
Where do I go when I arrive at Malaga Airport?
When you land at Malaga Airport, where you meet your driver will depend on a few things. These include:
- The type of transfer you’ve booked
- The travel partner that has been assigned to your booking
- The vehicle that you’re travelling in
The pick-up details for your booking are located on your e-ticket, so make sure you refer to this when you arrive in Malaga.
Some instructions will direct you to the Viajes Rusadir Stand (stand number seven), located in the tour operator’s area. If you’ve been directed to this point, make sure you don’t leave the arrivals hall until you’ve found this desk and located your travel representative.
You might have an e-ticket that requests you meet your driver in the arrivals hall. If you’re being directed here, you’ll see your travel representative holding a signboard displaying your name.
If you can’t see any directions on your e-ticket, call the number in the ‘Find my pick-up’ section of the ticket to find out what to do next.
I can’t find my driver – what do I do?
Now and then, our drivers can be slightly delayed due to traffic. If you can’t see them when you reach the pick-up point, call the number on your e-ticket to get an update. You’ll be asked for the reference number, which is on your ticket.
What if my flight into AGP Airport is delayed?
Sometimes things don’t go to plan. We want to help you get your holiday started as soon as possible so, if your flight’s delayed or your luggage hasn’t arrived on time, your driver will wait for up to 45 minutes.
We always recommend that you call the number on your e-ticket if you know there’ll be a hold-up. A new driver might be sent to you for delays of more than the 45-minute waiting time, so keeping us posted is very helpful for us to be able to accommodate you.
For any delays that go over three hours, you’ll need to rearrange your transfers with us and claim through your travel insurance.
What can I find at Malaga Airport?
Malaga Airport is the fourth-busiest airport in Spain and a bustling hub for holidaymakers. In 2017, a record 18.6 million passengers flew in and out of the airport.
As it’s so popular, Malaga becomes a particularly busy airport in the peak season, so it’s worth thinking ahead and booking your transfers with us. Not only will you avoid long queues for taxis from Malaga Airport but you’ll be free up more time to take advantage of the many shops, eateries and duty-free establishments while you’re there.
Where shall I meet my driver for my return private transfer?
If you’re using a private vehicle to take you back to the airport, you’ll find information in the ‘Find my pick-up’ section of your e-ticket detailing the time your driver will arrive at your accommodation. Aim to be ready 15 minutes before your pick-up time.
If you opt in to receive SMS messages from us when you make your booking, we’ll send you a reminder text. If you can’t find your driver or you can’t make the collection time for any reason, call one of the emergency numbers listed on your ticket.
Where shall I meet my driver for my return shuttle transfer?
Using one of our shuttle buses for your Malaga Airport transfers? We’ll let you know your pick-up time 24 hours before your plane departure time.
You’ll receive a text message detailing the time you’ll be collected if you’ve opted to receive SMS messages, or you can check online. Click on the ‘My bookings’ and ‘Get my pick-up time’ links. If you can’t find your pick-up time the day before you fly, call the number on your e-ticket for the details.
We advise you to your pick-up point at least 10 minutes before your bus arrives. If your bus is late, call the emergency number on your e-ticket to get information about timings.
