Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) Transportation Shuttles, Taxis & Private Transfers to Fort Lauderdale Beach & Port Everglades

Arrive happy with Fort Lauderdale airport transfers & rides

If you are flying into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with a cruise leaving Port Everglades that afternoon, the cut-off is real: most ships lock embarkation 60–90 minutes before sail, and Terminal 1 cruise-day traffic between 09:00 and 12:00 routinely adds 30 minutes to a four-mile journey.

A pre-booked hoppa transfer fixes the price the moment you book, drops you at the right cruise terminal (Terminal 18 Royal Caribbean, Terminal 2 Celebrity, Terminal 26 Princess, Terminal 21 Holland America), and waits 60 minutes after your scheduled landing as standard, 90 minutes on an international flight. Your driver tracks your inbound flight, so a delay does not become a missed ship. hoppa connects 40M+ travellers to 70,000+ vetted local operators worldwide, with the institutional trust of Mastercard, UnionPay and Alipay behind every booking.

Shared from $38pp · Private car from $55 · Minivan from $89 to Port Everglades and the beaches · Journey time 15–45 minutes depending on destination. Prices are indicative. Check hoppa.com for live availability.

Everything you need to know before you book

Pick a topic to see the most common questions travelers ask at this airport — fixed prices, vehicles, delays, deals, trust, and managing your booking.

What does it cost to my resort?

What's the price from the airport to my resort?

Prices vary by route, vehicle, season, and time of day. Enter your dates and party size above to see your fixed quoted price for the exact journey.

What's included in my fixed price?

Your quoted price covers vehicle hire, fuel, the driver's service fee (tips), tolls, parking, taxes, and any entry, congestion or airport-access fees on the route. There's nothing extra to pay the driver on arrival.

What's NOT included — what could cost extra?

Charged separately and disclosed before they apply: overtime fees if your trip runs longer than reserved, excess-mileage fees if you exceed your booked distance, night-time service fees on some routes (22:00–08:00), holiday or event surcharges in some regions, additional child seats beyond the first one (which is free), and extra stops you add during the ride.

Will the quoted price change between booking and travel?

No. Once your booking is confirmed, your price is locked — it's what you pay regardless of demand, season or currency changes between today and your travel date. Booking early is the surest way to secure today's rate.

Will I pay anything to the driver on arrival?

No. Your fare is paid in full at booking and covers everything the driver's owed — tips, tolls, fuel, taxes, parking. Bookings are pre-paid via credit card, debit card, or PayPal on the hoppa platform. The only reasons your final charge could differ from the quote are changes you make on the day (extra stops, route changes) or fees for damage or smoking, which are disclosed in our terms.

Are there night-time or holiday surcharges?

Some services include a night-time fee for travel between 22:00 and 08:00, and prices may adjust on local holidays. Both are always reflected in the quote you see before paying — there's nothing additional charged at the trip itself.

Can I tip the driver?

Tipping is entirely at your discretion. The driver's service fee is already included in your fare, so a tip is appreciated but never expected.

Do prices change for larger group sizes?

Rates are set per vehicle category, not per person. Moving up to a larger vehicle to fit a bigger party or extra baggage is reflected in the fixed quote you see at booking.

I think I was overcharged

Disputes must be raised within 14 days of the charge date by emailing customer service with your card statement and a brief explanation. After 14 days, charges are considered final.

Which vehicle fits my group?

How many people and how much luggage fit in each vehicle?

Vehicle categories include Sedan, Business Sedan, Minivan, Business Minivan, Minibus and Bus. Each has a strict insured maximum for passengers and luggage that drivers must adhere to. Default luggage allowance is one 24-inch suitcase per passenger — bags larger than 24″ count as two pieces. Choose a category that fits both your party and your bags.

Will I get the exact car shown in the picture?

Vehicle images are for illustration only. You're booking a category, not a specific model — and we may upgrade you to a higher category at no extra charge if your selected one isn't available.

Shared shuttle vs private transfer — what's the difference?

Private transfers take you directly from your pickup point to your accommodation, with no shared passengers and no extra stops. Shared shuttles are budget-friendly and pick up multiple passengers on a planned route, so the journey may take longer but the per-person price is lower.

Can I add a child seat for my baby or toddler?

Yes. We offer infant carriers, baby seats and boosters depending on your supplier and route. Add the seat type you need during booking so it can be confirmed in advance.

How much does a child seat cost?

The first child seat in your booking is included free. Any additional seats may carry a fee from the supplier — the exact amount is shown in your booking quote before you pay, so there are no surprises.

I forgot to request a child seat — can I add it after booking?

Yes. Contact customer service as soon as possible to add it to your booking. Late requests are honoured subject to availability, so the sooner you ask, the better. Important: no refund or replacement applies if a driver arrives without a seat that wasn't requested in time.

Is my child seat guaranteed once I've added it to my booking?

If you've added the seat at the time of booking, it's confirmed with your transport supplier. Seats requested after the booking is placed are subject to availability. If a seat ends up unavailable on arrival because it wasn't requested in time, no refund applies.

Can I bring a pet or service animal?

Yes, at no extra charge. Notify us at booking so the right vehicle is allocated. Important: animals count toward the vehicle's passenger capacity — so a 5-seat vehicle with two pets has three human seats.

Do you have wheelchair-accessible options?

Yes. Note any accessibility need (wheelchair, mobility scooter, special assistance) in the booking comments. We work with specialised partners and make reasonable efforts to accommodate.

What if my flight is delayed?

Will my driver wait if my flight is late?

Yes. Your driver waits up to 60 minutes free after your scheduled arrival for airport pickups. For international flights, there's also a 30-minute buffer added on top — so your driver's free waiting period starts after that buffer ends.

What if my flight is delayed by more than 2 hours?

Contact customer service to reschedule. If we can't pick you up at the new time, the order is cancelled without charge.

What if my flight is cancelled entirely?

Your transfer is cancelled free of charge. Contact customer service immediately so we can update the booking.

What if my flight is diverted to a different airport?

Contact us immediately. We'll do our best to reschedule your pickup — though we can't guarantee a free transfer if the new airport is in a different region or significantly further from your destination.

Where will I meet my driver?

24 hours before pickup we send a final SMS or WhatsApp with the exact meeting point and your driver's contact details. Meet & greet at the arrival gate is available on request, subject to airport policy — if not possible at the gate, we'll assign an alternative meeting point.

What if I'm stuck inside the airport (luggage, immigration)?

Use the emergency number on your e-ticket to call the driver or local supplier and let them know you're still in the terminal. The driver will wait through their free period and, if reached in time, can sometimes extend.

What counts as a no-show?

Not appearing within the free waiting period and being unreachable for additional time. No-shows are charged in full and non-refundable.

Best price & current deals

Where can I find a discount code?

Active offers are applied automatically when you search — there's nothing to enter manually. To see what's currently running, check our discount codes page or our homepage banner.

Should I book early?

Yes. We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance for the best vehicle selection. Bookings within 24 hours are subject to availability and may carry an expedited service fee. Booking early also locks in today's price.

Is there a low-deposit option?

On selected services and destinations, yes — pay a deposit now and the balance before your travel date. If the balance isn't paid in time the booking auto-cancels and the deposit is forfeited. Note: low-deposit bookings can't be paid with hoppa Credits.

What is Refund Protect?

An optional add-on at checkout from our partner Refund Protect. If you (or anyone in your party) can't attend for a covered reason, you receive 100% of your booking back. Refund Protect's decision is final — see their full terms when adding the option.

Can I use hoppa Credits from a previous booking?

Yes. hoppa Credits apply automatically to your next booking when you log in with the same email. They expire 12 months after issue, can't be transferred between accounts, and can't be combined with low-deposit bookings.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

Yes, depending on timing and vehicle size. Up to 7 seats: free cancellation more than 24 hours before pickup; 100% charge within 24 hours. 8–14 seats: free outside 48 hours. 16+ seats: free outside 14 days, 50% within 14–7 days, 100% within 7 days. Approved refunds process within 14 days to your original payment method.

Trusted by the world's leading payment networks and super apps — including Mastercard, UnionPay and Alipay — to power their global mobility ecosystems and agentic travel transactions.

Why pre-book instead of grabbing a taxi at arrivals?

Fixed price quoted upfront (no meter, no surprise tolls), driver waits up to 60 minutes free if your flight's late, meet & greet on request, child seats and accessibility bookable in advance, 24/7 multilingual support, and a clear cancellation policy if plans change.

Aren't I just paying a middleman fee?

Your payment covers both our booking service and the supplier's fare — we pay the supplier on your behalf. That's what gives you a fixed all-in price, dispute resolution, and a single point of contact if anything goes wrong on the trip.

Are the drivers vetted and licensed?

We only work with established local transport partners who meet our service and safety standards, and who operate under their own local licensing and insurance requirements. Each supplier is contracted directly by hoppa.

Is my booking and payment secure?

Yes. Payments are processed through industry-standard encryption and secure payment gateways. Your booking details and personal information are protected throughout the transaction.

Can I read verified reviews?

Yes — thousands of travellers share their journey feedback on our website and on Trustpilot, so you can see real experiences from past passengers before you book.

What if something goes wrong on the day?

24/7 phone support is available in English, Spanish and Chinese; chat support runs in all languages. Emergency contact numbers are on your e-ticket so you can reach support or the local supplier directly.

How do I complain after the trip?

For pre-booked transfers and shared shuttles, raise complaints within 30 days of the trip. For ride-hailing, within 3 days. Email customer service with your booking reference.

Already booked? Login & manage

Where's my e-ticket and pickup time?

A confirmation email goes out immediately after booking, a reminder 7 days before, and final pickup details by SMS or WhatsApp 24 hours before. Everything is also visible in My Bookings when you log in.

Can I get a VAT invoice for expenses?

Yes — contact customer service within 30 days of your trip to issue an invoice.

I left something in the car

Contact customer service as soon as possible. We'll make reasonable efforts to recover and return your item, but we can't guarantee retrieval and don't accept liability for items left behind.

Smoking, damage and cleaning fees

Smoking or vaping in any vehicle triggers a minimum $250 cleaning fee and the driver may end the trip; the fare becomes non-refundable. Trash, spills or other damage in the vehicle can incur a cleaning fee of up to $200.

What are hoppa Credits?

Credit issued on refunds or as a goodwill gesture. They apply automatically to your next booking when you log in with the same email, expire 12 months after issue, can't be transferred, and can't be combined with low-deposit bookings.

How do I cancel my booking? Can I get a refund?

Cancel from your account or by contacting support. Refund depends on timing and vehicle size: up to 7 seats — free outside 24 hours, 100% charge within 24 hours. 8–14 seats — free outside 48 hours. 16+ seats — free outside 14 days, 50% within 14–7 days, 100% within 7 days.

Can I change my booking details?

Yes, but only for: passenger names, contact numbers, number of passengers, and luggage count (within the booked vehicle's capacity). One free modification is allowed if your booking is eligible. For other changes — including route, vehicle category or pickup point — you'll need to cancel and rebook at the current price.

How long do refunds take to process?

Approved refunds are processed within 14 days to your original payment method.

How early should I leave FLL for my Port Everglades cruise?

Plan for three hours between your scheduled landing at FLL and your scheduled sail time from Port Everglades.

  • The drive itself is only four miles and runs 15 minutes off-peak, but cruise-day kerbside traffic at Terminal 1 and Terminal 4 backs up to I-595 between 09:00 and 12:00 and reliably adds 30 minutes.
  • Most cruise lines stop embarkation 60–90 minutes before departure, so a transfer that arrives 30 minutes late is a ship that sails without you.
  • Your hoppa driver drops at the correct terminal entrance, where Port Everglades porters take your bags directly, drop at the parking deck and no porter help is available.

How long is the transfer from FLL airport to the beach, Port Everglades and Miami?

FLL sits at the centre of three very different journeys. The cruise terminals at Port Everglades are four miles south-east, but every other major destination — Fort Lauderdale Beach, Hollywood, Downtown / Las Olas, Boca Raton, and the long 28-mile run to Miami / South Beach moves on the same two interstates (I-595 and I-95) that local commuters use. Time of day matters more here than distance: a 15-minute morning hop to Hollywood becomes a 35-minute crawl by 17:00 once the I-95 weekday rush builds.

Destination from FLL Private drive time Shared (pp) Private car (1–4) Recommended vehicle
Port Everglades cruise terminals 15–45 min private only from $55 Private car or van — terminal-specific drop-off

Which Fort Lauderdale airport transportation is right for you?

The right vehicle at FLL is almost always decided by one of three things: how much luggage you are carrying, whether you are heading to a cruise terminal, and what time you land. Choose the wrong one and you risk arriving at Port Everglades with bags that did not fit, or paying surge rates for a 22:00 ride-share you could have locked in for less weeks earlier.

The table below maps real situations to the right vehicle.

Your travel style Recommended service Why it works at FLL
Solo or couple, no checked bag Shared shuttle Direct drop at major hotels along Fort Lauderdale Beach and Hollywood — door to door without the peak wait for a ride-share.
Family of 2–4, cruise terminal Private car (up to 5 seats) Driver knows the terminal-specific drop-off at Port Everglades (Terminal 18 Royal Caribbean, Terminal 2 Celebrity) — bags go straight to porters.
Group of 5–8 with cruise luggage Private MPV or minivan Built for cruise families — 8 seats and enough boot for 8 large cases. Single drop at the cruise terminal kerb.
Group of 9+, wedding party Private minibus (1–22) or coach (1–60) Common for South Florida wedding parties heading to Hollywood or Hallandale hotels — one vehicle, one fixed fare.
Late-night arrival (22:00–08:00) Private car Avoids the 22:00–08:00 ride-share surge window. Driver is named and at the kerb when you walk out — not “5 minutes away” on an app.
Traveller with mobility needs Wheelchair-accessible minibus Request at booking — fitted ramp, six seats, one bag per person.
Business traveller, receipt needed Executive or luxury private car Professional driver, written receipt for expenses, quiet ride to Downtown FLL or Brickell.

A few things worth remembering before you book:

  • Child seats are free for the first one. Add it at booking and it will be fitted and ready when your driver pulls up at the ground-transportation island, so it is worth doing the moment you confirm your vehicle.
  • The nighttime surcharge applies between 22:00 and 08:00 local.
  • Standard luggage is 24 inches; anything over that counts as two pieces, which matters for cruise families packing for 7+ nights.
  • Pets and service animals travel with you but count toward the passenger allowance.
  • Any promo code you hold is applied before you pay.

What happens if my flight is delayed or my cruise terminal changes?

A late JetBlue arrival from Boston touching down at 23:40 instead of 22:10, that is the scenario we built for at FLL.

  • Your driver is already tracking the flight from the moment you book. The new landing time updates in their app automatically, and the 60-minute free wait window starts from your actual scheduled landing, plus a further 30 minutes if you are on an international flight.
  • If a sub-tropical squall closes I-95 mid-route, your driver picks the alternate corridor; if your cruise line changes the terminal — Royal Caribbean has moved sailings between Terminal 18 and Terminal 25 in past seasons — the driver re-routes.
  • Call the number on your e-ticket for any clarification and anything you want to communicate. hoppa's team picks up in an average of 11 seconds, every hour, every day — not a chatbot, not a ticket queue, a person. The team answers 99.7% of calls, average handle time 1 minute 57 seconds. Whatever has gone sideways at the airport, a person is on it before you have walked out of the terminal.

For business travellers heading to Downtown FLL or Brickell, executive and luxury private vehicles come with a quiet ride, English-speaking professional drivers, and a written VAT-compatible receipt that drops straight into your expense system the morning after your trip.

Is hoppa cheaper than a Fort Lauderdale taxi or Uber from FLL?

Honest answer: it depends where you are going and what time you land.

  • For a short hop to Downtown FLL or the Beach in light traffic, a metered Yellow Cab from the airport rank is competitive on price.
  • For Port Everglades on a cruise morning, or anywhere in the Miami corridor, or any ride between 22:00 and 08:00 when ride-hailing apps surge, a pre-booked fixed-price transfer is the obvious choice. The hidden costs at FLL are the airport access fee, the 22:00–08:00 ride-share surge, and the cruise-day surcharge that some metered taxis apply at Terminal 1.
Transport option Indicative price to Port Everglades Journey time What is included / what to watch for
hoppa private car from $55 fixed 15–45 min Tolls, airport fee, and terminal-specific drop-off included. Driver tracks your flight, 60-min free wait. No surge.
Yellow Cab from FLL rank $30–45 metered 15–45 min Add the airport access fee. Some drivers do not know the terminal-specific cruise drop-off.
Uber / Lyft from kerb $25–55 + surge 15–45 min Surge applies 06:00–10:00 cruise mornings and 22:00–08:00 nightly. Pickup is at the ground-transport island, not baggage claim.
Cruise line shuttle $20–35pp 30–60 min Fixed departure times only. You wait for the bus to fill before it leaves.
Rental car self-drive $50–110/day 15–45 min You still pay parking at the cruise port (~$22/day) and add an hour at each end for collection and return.

Watch the hidden cost: the FLL ground-transport access fee is built into every taxi and ride-hailing pickup. A pre-booked hoppa transfer absorbs that fee, tolls, and the terminal-specific drop-off into the fixed price. What you see at booking is what you pay.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport terminal guide & tips

When you land at FLL, walk through baggage claim, take the nearest exit to the kerb, and cross to the second outer island — that is the ground-transportation island where pre-booked drivers wait. The taxi rank sits at the inner kerb; ride-share pickups are at the Central Parking deck on a separate kerb again. FLL has four terminals split by airline, so your transfer pulls up at the kerb of the terminal your flight arrives in, not a central pickup point.

The full arrivals, delays and travel detail sits in the guide below.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) — Where to go when you land

Where every hoppa driver waits, how the cruise-day traffic actually works, and what to do once you reach the coast

Arrivals

FLL has four terminals split by airline — Terminal 1 (Southwest, Allegiant, JetBlue domestic), Terminal 2 (Delta, Air Canada, WestJet), Terminal 3 (American, JetBlue international, Frontier), and Terminal 4 (Spirit, United, most international). Walk through baggage claim, take the nearest exit to the kerb, and cross to the second outer island — that is the ground-transportation island where pre-booked drivers wait.

Where to meet your driver

At the ground-transportation island outside your arrival terminal, not at baggage claim. The taxi rank sits at the inner kerb; ride-share pickups are at the Central Parking deck on a separate kerb again. Your driver holds a sign with your name; your e-ticket includes the bay number for your terminal.

Skip the inner kerb

First-time visitors default to the inner kerb because the signs point there, then spend 10 minutes looking for a hoppa driver who is 30 paces away on the outer island. Cross to the second outer island and you will find them first time.

Delays & Driver Info

1

Free waiting time

60 minutes after your scheduled landing for domestic arrivals, plus a 30-minute buffer for international arrivals — 90 minutes total on an international flight.

Flight delayed or cruise terminal changed?

Your driver tracks the flight in real time. If your cruise line moves the terminal — Royal Caribbean has shifted sailings between Terminal 18 and Terminal 25 in past seasons — the driver re-routes without you needing to call.

?

Can’t see your driver?

Do not leave the kerb; check your e-ticket for the bay number first. Then call the number on your e-ticket — hoppa’s team answers in an average of 11 seconds, 24/7, a real person, not a chatbot.

Frequently asked questions

Where exactly does my hoppa driver meet me at FLL?

At the ground-transportation island outside your arrival terminal, not at baggage claim. Walk through the doors, cross the inner kerb, and the second outer island is where pre-booked drivers wait. Your driver holds a sign with your name, and your e-ticket includes the bay number for your terminal.

How early should I leave FLL for a Port Everglades cruise?

Three hours between scheduled landing and scheduled sail time is the safe window. Cruise lines lock embarkation 60–90 minutes before sail, and Terminal 1 and Terminal 4 cruise-day traffic backs up to I-595 between 09:00 and 12:00, adding 30 minutes to a four-mile drive.

Which cruise terminal at Port Everglades is mine?

Terminal 18 is Royal Caribbean (Allure, Symphony, Icon of the Seas). Terminal 2 is Celebrity. Terminal 26 is Princess. Terminal 21 is Holland America. Terminal 4 is Carnival. Drop-off at the wrong terminal adds 20–40 minutes of luggage-trolley walking and you lose the porter service.

How long will my driver wait if my flight is delayed?

60 minutes after your scheduled landing for domestic arrivals, plus a further 30 minutes for international arrivals. Your driver tracks your flight, so the wait window starts when you should have landed, not when you actually did.

Are child seats included?

The first child seat is free and must be requested at booking. It is fitted and ready when your driver pulls up. Without a pre-booking the driver may refuse the ride and no refund is given, so add it the moment you confirm your vehicle.

Is there a nighttime surcharge?

Yes, between 22:00 and 08:00 local time. JetBlue and Spirit late arrivals at FLL fall inside this window, so the surcharge is baked into your fixed price when you book.

What is the luggage policy?

24 inches per piece is the standard, and each passenger gets one bag included. Anything larger counts as two pieces, which matters for cruise families packing for 7+ nights. Add extra luggage at booking.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cars and vehicles up to 7 seats can cancel more than 24 hours before travel for a full refund. Vehicles for 8–14 passengers need 48 hours; coaches of 16 or more need 14 days. The refundable upgrade extends cancellation to within a few hours of travel.
