If you’ve only got 48 hours to explore, we’ve put together a list of things you won’t want to miss.</p><hr /><h1>Must see</h1><h2>Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/Prague_Castle_1.jpg' /></p><p>Prague Castle is a stunning castle complex dating from the 9th century and is the official office of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia.</p><p>Dominating the city centre like a fairytale fortress, it features a remarkable collection of historic buildings, museums, and galleries. The breathtaking St. Vitus Cathedral dominates the Prague Castle complex and offers great views of the city as well.</p><hr /><h2>Astronomical Clock</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/Astronomical_Clock_1.jpg' style='width: 1200px; height: 900px;' /></p><p>Also in the Prague Castle Complex, travellers can visit the medieval Prague Astronomical Clock which treats crowds to a parade of the Twelve Apostles every hour on the hour. During the Apostles’ procession, other figures placed on the sides of the astronomical clock also set in motion.</p><p>Even when not in motion, the clock is beautifully photogenic – with an astronomical dial, representing the position of the sun and moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details, and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months. According to local legend, the city will suffer if the clock is neglected and its good operation is threatened.</p><hr /><h2>John Lennon Wall</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/John_Lennon_Wall_1.jpg' /></p><p>Once a normal wall, since the 1980s the colourful John Lennon Wall has been filled with Lennon-inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from Beatles’ songs. The wall was inspired by the music icon’s murder in 1980, at which time he became a pacifist hero for many young Czechs.</p><p>The wall is the property of the Knights of Malta, who have whitewashed it several times, but it soon gets covered with more Lennon images, peace messages, and inconsequential tourist graffiti, so they don't bother to repaint it any longer.</p><hr /><h1>Must eat</h1><h2>Oblozené chlebícky</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/oblozene_chlebicky1.jpg' /></p><p>Oblozené Chlebícky – literally meaning “garnished breads” – is Prague’s version of an open sandwich and is typically considered a snack food. The deliciously simple dish consists of sliced, buttered bread topped with various toppings and garnishes, including various cured meats, sliced hard-boiled egg, cheeses, spreads, and vegetables.</p><hr /><h2>Smazený Sýr</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/Smazeny_Syr_1.jpg' style='width: 1200px; height: 900px;' /></p><p>For the cheese lovers of the world, Smazený Sýr – “fried cheese” in Czech – is a rich, gooey treat of cheese that has been breaded and then deep fried. It is traditionally served with a Czech version of tartar sauce and fries or boiled potatoes.</p><hr /><h2>Trdelník</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/Trdelnik_1.jpg' style='width: 1200px; height: 900px;' /></p><p>Trdelník – or chimney cake – is a popular type of spit cake made from rolled dough that is wrapped around a stick, then grilled on an open fire and traditionally topped with tasty sugar and walnut mix or with cinnamon sugar. More modern versions of the treat include fillings such as ice cream or Nutella.</p><hr /><h1>Must do</h1><h2>Visit the Jewish Quarter</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/Jewish_Quarter_1.jpg' style='width: 1200px; height: 900px;' /><img alt='' src='JiAaaaaaaa‚¬sAA¬sAAAA¬z?ak Farmers' Market' /><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/Jewish_Quarter.jpg' /></p><p>The Prague Jewish Quarter, known as Josefov, is located between the Old Town Square and the river and is the city’s second most popular site. The torrid history of the Jews of Prague is as old as Prague itself, dating back to the 13th century.</p><p>Most of the quarter was demolished between 1893 and 1913, leaving behind only six synagogues, the old cemetery, and the Old Jewish Town Hall – now all part of the Jewish Museum in Prague.</p><hr /><h2>Shop at the JiA™ak Farmers’ Market</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/Jirak_Farmers%EF%BF%BD%EF%BF%BD%EF%BF%BD_Market.jpg' /><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/ak_Farmers_Market_1.jpg' style='width: 1200px; height: 900px;' /></p><p>The farmers’ market on JiA™ího z PodA›brad square is one of the most popular in Prague, taking place every day from Wednesday to Saturday. It’s also great for people watching, and many locals visit the market.</p><hr /><h2>Take a walk up PetA™ín Hill</h2><p><img alt='' src='https://www.hoppa.com/resource/blog/uploads/2018/11/Peta_in_Hill_1.jpg' /></p><p>Covered with parks, this historic, rocky hill in the city centre is a popular recreational area. Peaceful PetA™ín offers visitors winding pathways up the hill, secluded gardens, and panoramic city views.
