Although it is pretty small it still functions as a regional center for the region.
Following the nomination of Uzès as a “Town of Art” in 1962 the historic center was beautifully restored. Visitors can now enjoy the narrow streets, alleys and old-style squares, enhanced by the medieval towers that dominate the old town. Main sights include the Duchy and the Tour Fenestrelle. The town also boasts the Musee de Bonbon which is a treat for children and grown ups alike.

This is one of the prettiest towns in France. Uzes is a mediaeval gem, unspoiled and wonderfully restored it is increasingly well known as the place to visit. With two superb markets each week and plenty of festivals it is a delight. Crowded in July-Aug, it is a wonderful place to visit for the rest of the year.
