Santa Ponsa

Sheltered beneath the canopy of a beautiful, subtropical cove lies Santa Ponsa. For decades this stunning resort has been one of Spain’s most visited holiday destinations. Particularly popular with British tourists, Santa Ponsa feels like a real home from home. Here holidaymakers can enjoy a hearty fry up breakfast and a traditional pub meal, while overlooking the breathtaking views of blossoming Spanish countryside and the Mediterranean Sea.

The vibrant holiday town of Santa Ponsa is one of Majorca’s most beloved destinations and has been since the early 1960’s. High-rise hotels run along the sloping hills in Santa Ponsa, giving every room the perfect ocean view. Santa Ponsa is centrally located on the southwest corner of the island; and down the road from all the sights, sounds and distractions of Majorca’s capital. While Santa Ponsa offers its own array of pubs, restaurants and bars it doesn’t come close to Majorca’s wildly popular party beaches. You’ll notice that several of the bars and eateries have a strong Celtic theme due the area’s popularity among Irish and Scottish visitors. The duo of beaches in Santa Ponsa offer holidaymakers anything they need for a day of fun in the sun. Guests can hire umbrellas and loungers, as well as water sport equipment for windsurfing and jet skiing. There are also volleyball courts, and cafés where you can enjoy a nice cold ice cream on a hot summer’s day. The main beach, Playa Santa Ponsa is a wide stretch of golden sand that has recently been expanded. During peak season Santa Ponsa becomes very crowded and those looking for more room will want to head to the smaller but quieter Little Beach, about a fifteen-minute walk away. Regular boat tours take off from both the marina and main beach. These aquatic trips provide guests a chance to relax, drink and swim out on the open waters. If you need a break from the beach, Santa Ponsa has three excellent golf courses where you can work on your swing.

While most of Santa Ponsa’s accommodation does an excellent job catering to families, like the FERGUS Style Cala Blanca Suites and the Holiday Park Apartments; there are a few hotels that are adults only. If you are here on honeymoon be sure to look out for the Iberostar Suites Hotel Jardin del Sol and SENTIDO Punta del Mar for a quiet, romantic atmosphere.

No holiday to Santa Ponsa is complete with paying a visit to the busy marina. Regular boat excursions leave from this picturesque port, offering trips to mainland Spain and around Mallorca. Santa Ponsa is also popular with golf and tennis enthusiasts. The Santa Ponsa Sports Club is an idyllic facility to relax and play a few rounds of your favourite pastime, while a great way to explore the rolling hills and pine fringed valleys of the region is by horseback and there are plenty of horse riding stables in the countryside, suitable for all ages and abilities.
