Porto Moniz boasts a recent promenade connecting the swimming pools to the pier, featuring green areas, snack bars; several view points and the Living Science Centre (Centro de Ciência Viva). This centre, comprising a room for temporary exhibitions, a cyber-café and an auditorium with 150 seats, will be showing national and international science-related exhibitions. Porto Moniz is also a significant wine growing and fishing region with important cattle fair that usually takes place during one of the summer months.
