Madonna Di Campiglio

Madonna di Campiglio is a village and a ski resort in northeast Italy. It is a frazione of the comune of Pinzolo. It has around 1000 inhabitants. The village regularly plays host to Alpine Skiing World Cup and Snowboarding races. The Scuderia Ferrari Formula One and Ducati Corse MotoGP teams hold an annual media event every January at the resort through their shared sponsor Marlboro.

This resort has become Italy’s largest resort in terms of beds, runs and lifts. The town has grown significantly. Whereas downtown Madonna was once where the hotels were concentrated, growth has given Madonna thousands of new rooms in the Palu section and above in the Campo Carlo Magno.

These new hotels, especially those in the far reaches of Palu, are a bit of a walk from the lifts which remain centered around the original village. The hotels at Campo Carlo Magno have good lift service but are separated from downtown’s shopping and nightlife.
